and leaving it too late and the tide out too far, have the Saltwater Crocodiles sliding into what was left of the river down the muddy banks, ...... A terrifying wait in the most densly crocodile populated river in the world, till the tide started coming back in.
From here, across the notorious Gibb River Road, and Mitchell Falls, with a visit and fly over of the El Questro Lodge.

Well it was one that we were thrown into the deep end with, and one we will never forget,
while heading off not knowing what to expect of the remote caravan adventure. .....
The trip would take us form Brisbane across central Queensland to the NT, through Mataranka Springs NP
through Kakadu to the now infamous Shady Camp fishing reserve, Darwin, down to the Daly River, and into the
Kimberley region via the Gibb River Road. ...
We visit the El Questro Station and have a chat to the then English owner Will Burrell, and after a chopper flight
over the exclusive lodge,
make our way further across 'The Gibb' to Pentecost River for a Barramundi fish, .....
and then up the notorious track to the Mitchell Falls.
From here we venture out of the Kimberley and visit the pearling
town of Broome for a sunset over the water on Cable Beach,
to then visit the red cliffs of Cape Leveque.
Then to head for home via Halls Creek, the Tanami Desert Track to Alice Springs, and across the Plenty Highway home.

getting stuck up in the silted mud Shady Camp - Mary River to all that the you'd both expect and unexpect!
