We recently had an intersting look through a genuine service facility
and see first hand the infastructure, and also meet some of the
trained technicians that run things behind the scenes.

Was very interesting , and you see that they do have an obvious emphasis on continually training with Toyota on the latest equipment to be up to date with servicing.

...giving peace of mind out here.

With the reliabilty, service and back-up for peace of mind, Genuine Accessories and Toyota Service centres are very popular choices.

The 9000'lb Genuine Winch under full strain pulling out
of the Pascoe River on the Frenchman's Crossing Track.

On our early trips we hadn't really entertained the thoughts of winches for some reason.
Thinking of them more so as the weekend extreme 4WD enthusiast's favoured accessory.

Venturing further afield into more and more remote areas, we soon realised that
they are a very necessary item for recovery, especially so if travelling alone.

This was brought to light after we were winched out of an area by
a passing traveller on the original 'Cape York Adventure' in 2002.

Heading out to Bathurst Bay - Far North Queensland

Since then we've had them on at least a couple of the vehicles, and they've
come in handy even for clearing fallen trees across the tracks from bushfires.

Another handy use we found, was in crocodile laiden creeks and beaches,
where we've used them to safely pull the tinnies up the bank a little to remove
the outboards away from the dangerous attack area on the waters edge.

The genuine bars we had fitted prior the last trip went as you'd expect from
a genuine accessory, spot on, and we had the side scrub rails and side steps
added to protect the panels from any small tree sliding up the side of the vehicle also.

We seriously put the genuine winches through some torturous work on the
last trip and they proved to be faultless, getting us out of some sticky situations.

Nearly every day of the trip we had them winding us out of problem areas,
and are one accessory that we now have fitted first on the list.

Even if you aren't intending any hard off road work, they're a great
insurance policy to get out of unexpected areas, from any change of terrain
with rain, to the likes of fallen trees accross the tracks.

Together with the massive back-up of Toyota dealers Australia-wide for
support and service, they certainly are a popular choice amongst travellers,
and understandably why.
