It was in 1961 that Barry Gall made the decision to sell his Highway Car Sales business, pack up the family and move up from the small NSW country town of Moree to settle on the Northside of Brisbane with Wife Noni in early 1962, to first open the doors of Kedron Caravans.
Originally selling used and Southern manufactured caravans.

In the late 70's and 80's it was a normal mid-year occurance that a closed for 3 weeks sign
would be swinging on the gate of the caravan sales, and with extended school holidays we
would be off on a run either through the Kimberleys... accross the Gunbarrell highway.... the Nullarbor Plain....Cape York.... Birdsville.... Maree.... Oodnadatta.... Ularu.... and the like.

We had been so fortunate to be given such a great family upbringing with Mum & Dad,
putting the kids well before themselves, also been given the opportunity to have grown up experiencing so much irreplacable early childhood Australian travel with them.

Something that each of us are extremely appreciative of.

Over time Barry grew the business to a point whereas he was able to provide a strong
platform for each of their five Son's, David, Peter, Craig, Ashley and Glen Gall.

Now together with all five Son's, still run the sales yard together with two factories
producing Kedron Caravans.

The adventure movies were born around an afternoon campfire out the back of home in 1998,
where Dad had a thought to take one of the vans for a test run over the Kimberleys and film
it as a way of being able to show areas that could be reached, and adventure experienced with
an off-road van in tow.

So it was set. One of the Brother's friends who worked as a news cameraman for a network station was organised to have holidays and film for us. All that was left was to get the vehicle and van set-up.

All until the day before we were set to leave, when a phone call came through to let us know that he was now all of a sudden unable to come with a new job position offered with Coast Watch. He arrived at the yard that afternoon to give both Peter and myself a crash course on how to turn on and work the camera with some basic techniques shown on passing traffic.

That was it, we were in the deep end, and with the new twist, we packed up the gear with little expectations, and set off North-West, to tackle the renowned Gibb River Rd..........and that's how it all started.

Originally we were in thoughts of being able to give, a then video, to people who were
interested in the vans.

Over time with great editing together with Stan and Jan Klaer of Obi Obi Studios, and adapted music from Matty James, the editorials in magazines and exposure increased for the distinct reality movies, not only showing the true beauty of the country, but showing all that could and did go wrong, tensions, arguments and everything else that goes along with an extended trip, and their popularity rapidly increased, to now cover seven titles.

'Journey the Kimberley' - 1999
'Circle the Gulf' - 2001
'The Rugged Cape York Adventure' - 2002
'Free Campin' the Outback' - 2003
'Tacklin' the Top End' - 2005
'Makin the Most of the Fraser Coast' - 2007
'The Far NQ Adventure' - 2008

The progression has been uncanny, and the popularity of the adventure-travel style documentries has been, well, quite overwealming, and much more than we could have ever imagined.

Pallets of DVD stock

At various caravan shows around the country a transition has gone from us predominately
showcasing the caravans to include a greater emphasis on the Adventures.

For the last few adventure movies, we have had release nights for all involved at the cinemas,
which has proved to be a great way of showing recognition to other companies and individuals
who have contributed to the popularity of the films.

We'd like to pass on our sincere thanks to all the fans of the movies, as it's been great recognition for the efforts gone to filming them.

We get a massive response of appreciative notes from people saying how much they enjoy them and watch them over and over... TESTIMONIALS and also from those who would love to get away and travel, but due to health reasons with pictures in hospital beds, or other factors were unable to get away on a trip themselves, and have written to say how the movies have given them the opportunity to see a lot of areas that they would otherwise have been unable to see.
Which is a great thing to be able to receive.

Have got to give a shout out to Ashley Gall also, who hasn't yet been on a dvd run,
yet been the one to take the reigns of the factory while we've been away filming,
